OUR SCHOOL
The school was established in 1945. From the very beginning it served the needs of the population of Łódź city. It underwent transformations throughout the years. Since 2002, due to changes in the system of education in Poland, it has offered full secondary education for teenagers aged between 16 - 19. Three-year program leads to "Matura" exams, the results of which are at the same time entry exams to further more advanced studies at Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges. In 2005 the school was named after Father as well as Professor Józef Tischner.

We offer 3-year secondary education with specialized programs. The following profiled classes are available:
  • Genaral knowledge with extended program of mathematics, geography
  • Biologically-chemistral with extended program of biology, chemistry
  • European with extended program of foreign language, history, geography, civics
  • Linguistically-historical with extended program of literature, foreign language, history
  • Mathematics and IT with extended program of mathematics, physics, computer science
Our school emphasizes the importance of European education especially through teaching foreign languages. The following can be chosen by the students (learning two languages is obligatory):
  • English
  • German
  • Russian
  • French
  • Italian
The library is equipped with a large collection of volumes with sections for literature, languages, history.
Aditionally, the study room possesses a computer lab with the access to the Internet for all students and the staff.
The library runs various events and exhibitions throughout the year.

European Club which was set up in 2000 was an important element creating the image of our school. Annual Youth Meetings of European Clubs and "Austrian Days" held by our school initiated the cooperation with guests of honour from Germany, Sweden, Austrian Consulate and foreign students. Due to this our students participated in various educatinal trips to the following countries: Germany, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Holland, Luxemburg, Austria and Czech Republic.

Sport plays an important part of the school life and our students. Sporting events are available for boys and girls. Our aim is to educate all students in a variety of sports so that PE classes comprise the following areas: basketball, football and volleyball as well as girls' dancing team.
Our students participate in annual sporting events winning prestigeous prizes.

All students are encouraged to take part in charity enterprises. We have already helped the children from orphanages, children from other schools in learning different subjects.

In December 2005 our school was equipped with a computer class and multimedia centre as a part of EU Project "Computer rooms for schools".
